Cashless Restaurants

DoughDepot was designed by restaurants for restaurants

DoughDepot was founded by restaurant owners for restaurant owners. We are originally restaurant operators, so we know the pain and costs of dealing with cash in your business. This is why we created DoughDepot to take restaurants cashless. We know how hard it is to service customers and retrain staff. Thus DoughDepot was specifically designed to take your facility cashless with minimal impact to your customer or staff. Additionally, we know how compressed restaurant margins have gotten over the past few years. DoughDepot’s cashless business solution solves this issue by not charging a fee to the business or the guest for the service of going cashless (reach out to us to learn how we make money). In addition to not charging a fee for going cashless, DoughDepot, saves the business money by allowing them to go cashless. We estimate that cash costs approximately 10%-15% of cash sales for restaurants. If your location does $1 million in cash sales a year DoughDepot’s cashless business solution should save you approximately $100k - $150k / year. Lastly, DoughDepot does not convert cash to a card because it inconveniences the customer, charges the customer breakage (if unused money on the card), and the business has to pay increased credit card processing fees. In the same example as before, if your restaurant does $1 million a year in cash sales and you convert that $1 million in cash to card, which is spent at your location, your credit card processing will increase $20,000 to $35,000. DoughDepot has no charge for going cashless.

What is the cost of cash to restaurant operators?

The cost of cash in the restaurant industry is insane! Largely the cost of cash is driven by the following variables: armored courier fees, bank fees, cash shrinkage (theft), drawer closing time, drawer opening time, audits, etc. As displayed in the chart to the right, the cost of cash for bars and restaurants is approximately 15.5% of cash sales and 11.4% of cash sales for fast food.
